Stockport Council are a medium sized municipality in the UK’s north-west which has around 300,000 residents. The Council has responsibility for services for both children and young people as well as adults over the age of 18. This is carried out in 2 linked departments. The Adult Social Care Department aims to help people aged 18 years or over to continue to live as independently as possible within the community. The Children and Young Peoples Department central focus is to drive forward the strategy and workforce changes necessary to ensure services are centred on children and young people’s needs, and secure improved outcomes for all.
